Well now I finally have a broody miniature silkie and we are in the middle of February and the weather forecast is rain and a little sun for most of the days I am not sure if I should let her brood will it be to cold for the babies? I live in England and we have had a few nice days and a few horrible days so please could you tell me if I should brake her or let her brood ? Thanks

She should do fine keping them warm enough., both as broody and as mama with chicks, if she only has as many eggs as she can cover well. I've never had a Silkie. with large fowl, 10 is probably the maximum, so I'd guess 6 or so for a Silkie?

Ok thanks for the info I will keep you updated

I never break a broody, so I say go for it. I've had babies playing in the snow before. Mama should be able to take care of them just fine. Just be prepared to bring her inside in a enclosed container if she has trouble keeping track of the chicks out in the coop.

Good luck!
