What is wrong with my Mrs. Molly. and what do I do??????
About a week or so ago one of my birds started showing signs of having trouble standing. She is a little older so I don't know if it is just old age and her time is coming or if there is something wrong that I could help her with. She is about 3 years old. She can barely walk now. She will walk a little bit and loose her balance and start stumbling balance herself with her wings and sit down. I am NPIP so they have been tested for those things.
I thought maybe it was lung related because, I thought I heard heavy breathing. I gave her injectable antibiotics for three days. No improvement. I think I was wrong about that. I figured what could it hurt to give her antibiotics hopefully it would help and obviously if I don't figure out what is wrong she is gonna die. I gave everyone worm medicine today. If that is it how long would it be before she gets better? If this doesn't help what do you think is wrong?
She is 3 years old.
She is having trouble walking.
Has a real hard time balancing.
She is alert.
She is still eating and socializing just doing it sitting down.
No runny poo on her backside.
I did notice a little runny poo on the backside of some of my other chickens hinnies ( I don't know if that matters or not.)
If anyone knows what is wrong please tell me and is there something I can do. Does it sound like Mareks and if so is it treatable and how do I treat?
Thanks,
