I have caught them with my bare hand before when they came on my porch and ate my cat food. The last one I caught climbed up on my BBQ grill where I had sat the cat food and I walked up on the porch after dark coming in from work and surprised him. Fortunately, I also had a pet crate on the porch from taking the cat to the vet, so I turned the crate up on it's end with the open door facing up. I picked up a stick and waved it around in front of his face to keep the teeth end occupied with my left hand
and snatched him up by the tail with my right hand. Then I dropped him down into the cat crate, closed door, he was caught! If they start to try to curl up to grab their tail you just have to give em a little jerk. No big deal if you're careful, then you can dispatch them in the manner of your choosing.
