So I purchased 6 chicks almost three weeks ago because the feed store had the breeds I wanted (Buff Orpingtons and EEs). I had 8 eggs on the incubator at the time! Only two developed though, and last Saturday on egg hatched three days early! So there I have one teeny little chick, and just HAD to get it some friends at the feed store (more EEs and a couple Black Australorps, which are new to me. Minimum purchase is five, so now I have 12 adorable chicks.
Yesterday I get a phone call from the feed store, telling me the silkies I ordered are in! I had forgotten that I'd asked them for some if they ended up placing another order, which they did.
So anyway, now I have 16 adorable chicks!! The different batches are two weeks apart and I have the babies separate from the bigger gals in the same brooder. Hopefully I can open it up this weekend.
