I found out a few of my other chicken owning friends have been using a local farm for feed for years. It's 10-15 miles from me but well worth the drive. All food ingredients are grown on the farm and it is milled and bagged on site. It all comes in unsealed 100 lbs bags that you get a dollar off your next bag when you return them. I picked up 100 lbs of ground feed (mash) and 100 lbs of cracked corn for $30 total. That should last me almost 2 months. And as an added bonus the chickens love it. I can even feed it to the chicks too. I just add oyster shell in a bowl for the big girls.
