After spending years obsessing over my silkies... and I DO love my silkies. I had an extra small coop that once housed a few ducks (whom decided freed on the pond meant not having to return home) now with some extra wire mesh and a ladder, its now big enough for a few tiny bantams. The problem was finding some locally, and in my tiny budget. I didn't want sold black either.

So I was lucky enough to come across 4 babies on Craigslist. 2 6 week olds and 2 2.5 week olds. They are also grey, which I love the white arund their necks. I also like I can tell 1 is a roo for sure, and 1 is a pullet... just waiting on figuring the other 2 out. I also found 1 of the tiny guys LOVES hanging out in my pocket with me. She/ he jumps on my desk, then back in my pocket to curl out. She/he's so friendly!!!

Oh, they are so cute! You'll have to keep us posted with pics as they grow, and as you figure out what the sexes of the other two are. Oh, and you HAVE to show us a pic of the baby in your pocket!

They're adorable! I love Japanese bantams--they're a lovely breed! I have two right now, one of which is a baby about the size of your older ones. Have fun with them! Beautiful color on them, too--they look like they're birchen.

I like cochins and silkies best but japanese bantams run a very close third. How cute!!!!

Its been so long since I've had chicks in the house, so I'm thrilled! I'm used to ducklings by now, and man are they messy so we move them outside quickly. These guys are so cute! I miss them when they're tiny, so I'm guessing when they are old enough I'll let them breed. Why not! LOL I've even thought about trying to introduce a frizzle into the mix! How cute would that be.

Yes, these are most definitely Birchen. I saw the picture of the daddy, and he's gorgeous.

I'm glad to have gotten these from a breeder, and not a hatchery... I'm impressed with the quality.

Ooo I can't wait to see them all grown up! I love the ugly teenager stage... so funny!

Congrats! Around here is is hard to find just that ONE breed you are wanting. I have given up for now and just enjoying all the different colors I can get my hands on. When these are all grown up then I will get hardcore on finding Just those few breeds that I have my heart set on.
