I Found a Small Little Egg in The Chicken Coop

So i was giving my chickens water then i noticed there was a really small egg I thought it was a pigeon egg but then i wondered how would a pigeon get in there or how would the egg go through then I searched it online and saw that it was a chicken egg will it hatch?? But before that in the morning I saw a the same kind of egg outside of the coop. BUT it was cracked my hypothesis is that a pigeon was flying while carrying a cracked egg shell but then it fell, because the egg didn't have its top part it only had the bottom egg or did it hatch i really don't know please help me!

If it’s a chicken egg, it won’t hatch unless it’s fertile, then incubated. I would guess this applies to all fowl eggs
