I finally asked someone different at our local feed mill and he didnt give me that "look" when I said DE. He got it in 3 days and it was 18.00 for 40lbs. It came from Mexico and says that it is food grade. My DH said he told the mill workers that they could even eat it and that he would let them have a hand full before he brought it home, ...they all declined.
