I finally feel like I have a chance to breath. We got the chicks and built the coop and hatched some eggs and got sset up to hatch more eggs... For each and every physical act taken in regards to the chickens there has been an hour or two of research done to make sure we were doing it correctly. I owe most of my answers to BYC. Without this forum my hens would be cold and starving and fighting and most likely dead!
All that to say THANK YOU!!! BYC is the best. I appreciate everything I have learned here and all those of you who stepped out of your coops long enough to share some of your situations and wisdom on BYC. I am still so surprised to come up with search responses thinking surely no one has ever ask this.
Little about me.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Had chickens growing up but they were my pets and I was the child. Having chickens and being an adult is far different. We officially got started about 3 mos ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
9+2+5+15 eggs?!? lol, I guess you rarely get a straight answer here.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Buff orphingtons, silkies, Lavender orphingtons, splash orphingtons, polish top hats, bantam frizzles, golden laced wyandottes and an easter egger
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
It appears any time I Google a random chicken uestion
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Homeschooling my kiddos, urban farming wannabe, bloggling
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
