We figured out who laid 5 eggs in the rabbit nesting box. Yesterday she laid an egg in the duck box! Well today I go to check the duck box again and guess who peeks out? Victoria!
She is makign herself a new nest in there now.
But I know nothing about hens and nesting. She has a great coop that I built her and since we culled a rooster 2 weeks ago nobody wants to use it any more. They all go to the 10x10 pen in the evening with the younger group.

The rooster was culled on the neighbors property so they didn't see anything.

Ok scratch that theory! I went to check on Victoria and she laid a WHITE egg! Her first white egg.

So who laid the 7 mint green eggs?

And why was Victoria throwing shavings on her back?

Don't know her breed really. We had suspected a Brown leghorn cross maybe? But really it comes down to we don't know.
My other her age is a dominque. They are about 7 months.
A little younger are a pair of wyandottes that are silver and blue mixed. Plus another wyandotte mixed with ??? that is the same age. She has a tuffted head so we were thinking Polish. They are about 5-6 months.
Then the rest are EE mixes, Silkie mixes, Turken mixes. These are all under 4 months.

I have an EE that likes to lay in one of the empty rabbit hutches too. Most of my girls are good about using the nest box, but since they range around on about 3 acres everyday has the potential for an easter egg hunt.

Well my Dominque hen was sitting on a mint green egg this afternoon!

Now I am very puzzled...
