Buried in the litter. All crusted over and brown. Knowing it had to be removed, and facing danger, I approached it slowly and cautiously, like the bomb disposal squad would ...
Gingerly holding it, I removed it from the pen and carefully walked it over to one of my apple trees, where I launched it on its fateful journey against the trunk.
With a mighty "pop" it exploded upon impact. Bomb diffused, pen saved, and best of all, Bambi vanquished for another few days.
Seriously, I've found out that rotten eggs are keeping the deer from eating my fruit trees. I hung some rotten quail eggs in a little mesh bag in one, and bambi has left that tree alone, while he's been eating the other ones.
This particular egg really was ready to go off = it popped like a small firecracker.
