Definitely do keep an eye on that spot! My duck who had a history of ingrown feathers would get ingrown feathers in the same feathers follicles every single time they grew back in. They grew curly, under the skin, would sometimes get infected, and often need to be surgically removed under anesthesia at the vet.

Hopefully your duck's feather follicle isn't damaged and it was a one time thing, or something else.
