I gave layer feed to 17-week old pullets, will they be okay?

By accident, I gave layer feed to my 17 week-olds. I never realized that was bad for them until they had been laying for more than a month. I have not noticed any problems, but I am concerned it will will affect them in the future. So, will they have health problems?

A short term ingestion excess calcium will do little harm. It is long term where the problems like scaring of the kidneys or kidney stones form. Once are near the POL or has acuity started many switch over to layer if they are going to use layer.

Many feeds suggest 16-18 weeks, so I think you are all good as Den in Penn stated.
