I got 5 Chicks from TSC last August, but I have no idea what they are 🤔 I have some guesses, I could use some help here.. Thank you!!! 🥰

1. I have looked at all the breeds with 5 toes but she doesn't match any of them.. I thought she maybe a Swedish Black Hen but is that too far stretched? I hear they are rare...

2. I was pretty sure this was a Black Star because of the orange, but it looks nothing like my other Black Star and has no shine on the back.. This one also has five toes which is really odd because I have looked everywhere but cannot find a breed that matches this!

3. This one has 4 toes and little ear muffs I'm pretty sure its an EE, but if it was what breeds would it be mixed with?? Thank you!

Your first two birds are quite odd. The third one I agree is an EE, most likely not mixed with anything else, or at the very least its phenotype does not suggest that. The last two look like the Sapphire Gems that I had, but I am not very familiar with the breed overall. Hope someone else has better input.

Thank you!!! I had never heard of the "onyx" breed but they definitely match my pullets! does anyone know if they are heat tolerant? I live in TN so its crazy hot here and I cant seem to find alot of information about them.. again thank you so much!!

The ones with five toes could be “green greens“ these are hybrids from the hatchery and should lay green eggs. They often have five toes.

We have one that looks just like #3-ours is an EE super mix from a local farmer. Her flock has Ameraucanas, Barred Rocks, Silker, Turken, Buff Orp and I **think Black Australorps
