I got a chicken on my foot

I should have known she was an EE, with that pea comb and slate legs! I suspected but was not sure, and the ear lobes threw me off. She really is a pretty girl, they both are. ❤️
Earlobes aren't an indicator of egg color. Yes, many breeds that have red earlobes lay brown eggs, but that's a coincidence rather than correlation

Here's Teddy and Sunny, my OE, side by side. Don't they look remarkably similar?? I wonder if they came from the same breeder, but different hatches, because I got them a month apart from the same feed store.
they likely did come from the same hatchery, feed stores tend to order from one hatchery most of the time

Thanks everyone! 😊 she really is the center of this flock, I tell ya. Has been since she was 3 weeks old. I'm out at the coop now and she's doing her daily "fly onto the building so I can look down at everyone" routine 😂 she talks while she's up there too.

I'd like to share ONE MORE thing with Teddy... I caught this moment on the coop cam yesterday. She is one NOISY chicken!! She does this when others are laying, before she has laid hers, and right after she has laid hers. I didn't get it on the video, but the nest she is looking at in the very end of the video is where she jumped in to lay her egg. The only other chicken who makes a fuss like this is the Australorp, and that's only if someone's in her nest, and after she has laid. Lol they're so loud!

Sounds like how Lavender was when she started laying lol. She was singing the egg song pretty much the whole time Juniper was on the nest lol
