I got a couple of new birds...

and they have been in the other pen for a week while I have been getting their pen ready. I finished it today and moved the new birds into it. It is very apparent that the new birds have had lots of room to roam before coming here. Will they be negatively impacted (stress or whatever) from being locked in new HOME for another extended period of time? Thanks.

If you want them to "learn" that it's their new sleeping place, you should lock them in it for a week. Or maybe just a few days.... It won't hurt them, but will help them understand this is the new place to go to each night.

They'll get used to it. Do you free-range at all? Maybe let them out for a bit everyday a few days after they get used to being in the coop.

I've found that chickens adapt to their environments pretty quickly. must be one reason they've been around for so many years!
