I got my first egg

My pekins are 19 and 20 weeks old as of yesterday dd went to leave for college this morning and we had an egg in the pen with the ducks!! we got our first duck egg this morning. I thought they wouldn't lay till they were almost a year old but mine are 5 months old

I am so tickled. do they need oyster shell like my chickens? I also got my first quail egg day before yesterday then yesterday we got 2 of them. they were 6 weeks old yesterday!! OH WHAT ABLESSED DAY I AM SO HAPPY!!!

Congratulations! I am so jealous! NONE of my girls are laying eggs as of yet! Not the chickens, not the ducks, nor the goose, nor the turkeys!

I know how you feel the chickens have just about quit laying because of the heat, but when when we were waiting for them to start to lay it took forever we had some that didn't lay till they were 11 months old
