The PO called at 11:32 PM to tell me that my BBW turkeys from Mt Healthy hatchery were in!!! I told him that I would be there ASAP, he asked if I was coming tonight. (Well, yeah!) Drove the 17 miles to get there, by 12:30 AM my poults were in the brooder with food and water. Ordered 15, got 16.
One is quite the peeper, as usual. Always seem to have one noisy one.
Funny how you always seem to recognize that distinctive call... heard it once and didn't pay much mind, til I remembered that I didn't have any poults at the time and I realized that this once sounded a bit distressed. Went outside, a young wild poult had gotten seperated from the rest of his family. We have a partial chainlink fence around the yard, the rest had gone to the outside walking down our driveway, this guy had gone down the inside. Herded him back up and around so that he could join his family. He didn't seem at all grateful
