Well, I was late letting the girls out to play in the yard, so they just came pretty much straight in tonite.
There was no food in their house box, and I gave them water, but forgot to put the flyswatter thru the cup handle like I normally do. (becuz Fussy dumps the cup over as soon as I give it to her if I dont take weird measures) (Spotted Crow, youre gonna have to give me details on how you manage your two in the house in the winter!)
Well, I had to fix dinner for mom, who wasnt feeling well, so I didnt give them anything to eat (at that moment). Within five minutes, Fussy had dumped her water, had a wet box, their roost had fallen down, and no food. MAD chickens! They started clucking like they do when they are ready to lay, only this was a "ok, where's the food, buddy, and I am thirsty and this BOX is WET, do somethin bout it right NOW" cluck.
Then somehow Lily escaped from the brooder box with all the chicken clucking noises, then poor lil Dash, not to be outdone even tho she IS part silkie, threw herself against the brooder with a mighty THUMP and leap and also escapes. Then my BIG girls started trying to get out, that no food part really ticked em off I guess, sheesh. I felt like a mother, you know, when ya say "Just give me FIVE minutes of PEACE, darnit!"
Then I happened to dump the okra I had fried on the floor, told mom it WAS NOT chicken related...lol
Anyhow, I am laughing about it now, but it took a bit to get everyone settled this evening!
Whew...tired chicken mom here.
