At least they are hens, I had someone drop off roosters before.

That is crazy.Between the arrival of chicks by post, and hatching my own for the first time ever, I expected all my new arrivals would be tiny. However, upon letting out my flock this morning, I noticed an unfamiliar face at the door. I have no clue what kind of chicken this red bird is, but I am very sure I've never seen her before. A quick glance inside the coop, and there are THREE MORE strangers. A silver laced Wyandotte, an EE, and this black hen that I think is a Jersey Giant. Where did they come from? Who put them in my coop in the middle of the night? Well I don't know, but meet Ruby, Ethel, Wisteria, and Jersey.
Sadly I have considered that previously. That's certainly better than just dumping them, but crazy.
Maybe time to put a padlock on the coop?
