So I am almost on day 7 of incubating with my LG (first go-round with it) and the temps are very unstable (which I'm thinking is due to my house heating and cooling). We've had spikes of up to 103 (caught early enough to intervene).

Here is my question, if I am able to get another incubator stable (one with a digital thermostat) is it possible to transfer the eggs from my LG into it without disrupting the incubation too much? I'm thinking it wouldn't take any longer than when a hen leaves the nest to eat and drink quickly.

Has anyone done this?

Or, if that isn't a really feasible option, suggestions on how to stabilize the temps? I know that a little fluctuation isn't going to disrupt things much, but I'm afraid of those 103 jumps, especially if it happens on days that I am at work and can't correct it right away.

Incubators work best if located in a place where the ambient temperature is rock steady. 65-70. day and night, at all times.

That's really tough to do without a basement or a strategically placed closet. Someplace where it doesn't drop to 60 at night nor rise to 76 during the day, especially with the sun beaming in.

Most homes in the US swing wildly from cold over night to very warm in the afternoon sun. As people, we don't think much about it as we sleep at night. Many people even have their thermostat's programmed to cool at night and be warm during the day, during times of primary occupancy. Really tough for an LG to adjust to such swings.

Yes, you could transfer the eggs from one incubator to another, or from the incubator to a dedicated hatcher.
