I hope he chokes on the feathers.

Oh, I'm so sorry! Here, this is for you...

I know it doesn't replace your little lost roo, but I hope it makes you feel better. There is a repellent you can buy, I'll see if I can find the link. It's these granules you can sprinkle. They repel all sorts of critters, snakes included. I'll see if I can find the link and post it here. Since they have such fine senses maybe if you partially bury the granules it will repel future snakes, but the chickens won't eat it. It's an idea? Or... put it in a sock or nylon, etc. and place it in the coop. Should disgust the snake and make it leave. Then no more chicks will get eaten. It's a thought. I'll see if I can find the link...

Thanks CCM. I did immediately go look for snake stuff and found some like you're talking about at TSC. It's like $14 a bottle, and I was going to get some and a customer said that moth balls work just as well. So, I got some of those and dropped them down between the inner and outer wall. I covered up the holes he was coming in through so hopefully, he's trapped and learning his lesson.

I know it's all about the circle of life, etc ... but I'm still mad. What about my poor lil roo that never got much of a life?

He was going to live his days in The Poultry Palace with his little harem of hens ....

Looks like a pretty good snake for keeping rats out of the area.
I hate that he got the chicks though.

I'd be torn between getting a hold of a snake like that and simply letting him eat other things around...after more predator-proofing of course. Can't tell by the picture, but any idea about he big he was? He looks pretty big in that picture...
