22 of the eggs I was incubating hatched. Every one that "pipped" (?) got out of their shells and seem to be fine.

I'm not sure what pipping is. Is it when they first crack the shell?
Thanks, Sylvia

Congratulations on the hatch! You'll hear about "internal pipping", that is when the chick breaks through the inner membrane into the air sac and you can sometimes hear it cheep, followed by "external pipping" which is when the chick breaks through the shell. This is followed by "zipping", when the chick slowly "zips" the shell open, so it can come out.

Thank you, Sumi.

Not all of my babies did the zipping, some of them kind of banged out the side they were on and came out the side instead of the end of the eggs. Does this happen much? Sylvia
