I have a BABY!!!! Update: There are 2!!!

One of my eggs from DDD has hatched!!

It looks like either a blue or black ameracauna. I'm thinking blue, but I'm not sure. It has the cutest little puffy cheeks!

There is one other egg peeping for sure, and one more that 'should' hatch. The other 3 seem to have quit early on, darned new bator, still haven't figured it out

But this is a miracle chick!!! I had a temp spike the other day that killed ALL the silkie eggs that were in the hatcher with these, so the fact that any of them have hatched is a MIRACLE!!!!

That's awesome, Shelley!!!! I'm glad your hatch wasn't a complete loss! Aren't bator problems the pits!!!!!!

This one is driving me crazy!! It's a 1583 hovabator, and the temp hardly ever moves! I guess my thermometer wasn't as accurate as I thought it was, because I had a lot of eggs quit around day 10ish all the way to hatch. One of the silkie eggs was peeping, then I had the temp spike

I'm thinking I'm gonna run it a bit on the high side, like around 100.5 instead of 99.5. I would rather have chicks hatch a day early than not at all!

I woke up this morning to another peeper in my bator!! So now I have a black and a blue ameraucana!!! The black one was the first to hatch, and the blue was overnight! Only one egg left to hatch, let's hope it does!
