My poor little tiny chick is very sick. She is an aurucana and I just got her yesterday, but later in the day she started hanging her little wings down and got kind of wobbly. Then she quit eating and drinking so I separated her with her own food and water, under a heat lamp and today she is just laying there and when I picked her up, she just laid upside down in my hand

I feel so bad, and she keeps chirping really loud. I was told at the supply store to give her a drop of honey, does anyone else know what to do? Please help its heartbreaking!! Thanks! U

There are a few things that everyone will want to know.

How old is your chick?

How is the poop?

Any details about where she came from, what kind of bedding you have, what you've been feeding her (even though it was only a day), how the temperature is, as much as you can think of so the people here will have a good picture, ok?

There are a lot of smart and experienced people here who can help you.

Blessings.

Make sure it is eating and drinking. Use a dropper if you have to every few hours. Make sure it is warm but not too warm. Use pine shavings or paper towels for bedding, not cedar. Is it getting grit? You can put sugar, gatorade or honey in the water for energy. If you want you can get poly-visol drop at Walmart and use those too. Make sure they are without iron. Offer it some yogurt or scrambled eggs. These are all things you can try to keep up its energy. I would definately make sure you get fluids in it as much as possible. Good luck

Hi. Sorry for your troubles....good job keeping her separate and warm. Do you have any vitamin drops? I hear "Vitasol" (or something like that) could be a good thing. Also a drop of "Rescue Remedy" couldn't hurt, but it won't solve the problem. Off the bat, it sounds like a deficiency of some kind. I've always used molassis+water instead of honey because honey can harbor some bad bacteria. If I were you, I'd give a few drops of molassis water + vitamins while waiting for other ideas.
More info moght help...How are her poops? Any eye/nose drainage? Are her eyes clear? Did you notice any other sick chicks where you got her? etc. GOOD LUCK.

Thanks for the advice everyone, she died less than an hour after I posted. At least now I know what to try if this ever happens again.
