Anyone have any idea about my chickens? How about my slow grower? Has anyone heard anything about having a slower grower? Is it normal to have a chick that doesn't grow like the others? Is there anything you can do to help encourage growth?!

Well the 'slow grower' is probably a roo. Pullets feather out a lot faster than little cockerels do.

its hard to tell breeds at this age because they are still mostly in their baby fluff.

1: not sure. That is sort of what my Sumatrans looked like but they were TINY compared to this one.
2 (only the full pictured birds): RIR, barred rock
3. gold laced Cochin (?)- Im assuming it has feathered legs.. not sure why you the leg all taped though.
4. buff turken
5. barred rock
6. EE?
7. light brahma
8. buff rock
9. RIR

These are just guesses.

Thank you very much for the suggestions! The one that is all taped up is my slower grower! He has a slipped tendon and his growth plates are all out of wack so the vet put him in this little taped splint which is hopefully gonna correct the problem. I have about 6 or 7 RIR and I am excited about that since they seem like awesome birds. The one that you said may be a barred rock is a fricken sweet heart! She falls asleep on my lap, on my shoes and will literally follow me around the yard. I love her to pieces! I never knew that I could get so much joy out of these little ladies! Thank you very much. These birds about going on 4 weeks old and so does my "slow grower" look normal for that. I thought for a while that he may have genetic issue but the vet said that if he did then he would have been born with a funky leg but he wasn't.

These chickens will be living in their own coop since we already have a smaller one that has 4 pullets and 1 rooster. If this slower grower ends up being a rooster is that okay for them to be seperate like that or should i only have one rooster?

Could picture 2 the black and white bird be a plymoth rock or no?
