So....intructions are vague to say the least. It's assembled, had 100ml of water and pluggd it in and went straight to 38 degrees Celsius. How do I check humidity and stuff? Do I just let it stay at 38 degrees?

Surely there is more to it than throwing eggs in there and adding water every other day until day 21. Is there some magical daily spreadsheet on what to do each day? Lol any and all info appreciated. Would be good to gather a bunch of info here especially for my particular incubator so I have a reference. Thanks!

My little Janoel 12 is so easy to use and reliable! You can set the temperature to what you need, that way if you open the incubator it regulates as soon as you close it. I found the humidity is pretty accurate as well and I don't add water until a week into incubation, I just add a little in every few days but at hatch time it can struggle to hold the humidity so I just pop a damp sheet of paper in there and it's fine. The only thing I'd keep an eye on is the plug at the top, mine falls out quite a lot so I've just taped it in place permanently. It's automatic turning so you just have to make sure you get the arm through the tray. Super easy to use once you get the hang of it! The only time i need to check the incubator is on day 7 to remove any duds and day 18 to take the tray out and put some anti slip mat down. I keep mine in my wardrobe and end up forgetting about it, oops.

A video on setting the temperature that I found useful. There's lots of videos on the Janoel to help you.

Here are some of my hatches:

So I basically just follow this chart and keep water in it? As far as not turning eggs starting day 18 how do i disable that? As far as taking the tray out at day 18, do u mean the black tray thay holds the eggs? Why do you put a mat down? Sorry for all the newb questions i just want to give them the best chance possible. After reading about shipped eggs im a little nervous now. Let's see if i have this right......Once I get the eggs (6 of them), I put them in an egg carton for 24 hours large end up and do not disturb them at all. After 24 hours preheat the incubator with 100 ml of water and place them in (on their side I assume as i dont see how they'd stay upright). Keep adding water every other day. Check em on day 7 to see if they'e developing and remove any that is not. Then day 18, lower temp a bit, raise humidity, and quit turning. Wait until day 21 and let all hatch and remove them once their dry?

Please correct me if I have something wrong.

I had shipped eggs for my Janoel once and had to revert to turning the eggs myself (in an egg carton) as they had detached aircells, so had to be standing up instead of on their sides, which is how the Janoel turns them. When it comes to lockdown I just take the black turning tray out. The anti slip mat is so the chicks don't slip on the plastic grids and splay their legs. It's very cheap to buy.
Yep, just follow the chart. But once your eggs have settled for a day you might want to candle them to see what the air cells are like, even though they might not be broken on the outside, doesn't mean they're not completely scrambled on the inside. Good luck :) keep us updated
