I put my eggs in the incubator on the 10 th of november around 7 pm would last night at 7 pm be the start of day 20? and then tonight around 7 pm be the start of day 21?
there is still nothing going on with the eggs as of this morning. I kind of believe they have died. when I first candled them at day 7 I know I saw at least 9 living embryos then at day 14 i saw them moving what could have killed them if they don't hatch. and when should I give up on them hatching? none of them stink or anything. I am about to go in there and open one up and see if they are still alive or not.

If you put them in on the evening of the 10th. then officialy..the 11th is day one. So, with this date...the 21st day is December 1st. DONT OPEN THEM! Waite a few more days! Has your temp been good? What about the humidity!? I would waite a few more days, maybe even untill the 4th or so. be patient.....it will come! and keep us posted.

I candled 3 of the eggs a little bit ago I know that there is definately 2 that are still alive and 1 has pipped through the inner membrane. oh are the eggs suppose to get real light before they hatch? they don't hardly weigh anything

Patience, patience - all of us hatchers have been on the 'they're not going to hatch...they ARE going to hatch.... they aren't going to hatch.... they ARE going to hatch' roller coaster.

I'd leave them in there for at least 24 days total before giving up on them...that'd be until Monday.

If the temps had a variance, or were running a bit on the low side, it could very well be that you have some slow developers.

Sounds like you will have at least a couple survivors, though - now....close the lid and sit on your hands....

You do know that you aren't supposed to open the bator after you quit turning at day 18, don't you? Every time you open it, it loses humidity, and if anything kills them, this will. They need the humidity to get out of the shell. Candeling after day 18 is a no-no, also, as you have to get into the bator, (letting out the humidity) and also you will have rolled the egg around, and what they are doing in those last 3 days is getting themselves turned and positioned inside the egg so they can hatch. Do you have any way to check humidity? Do you have water in there? Try to leave it alone, and maybe there is a chance that some will hatch. It definately isn't too late for them to hatch--if your bator was a degree or two too cool, they will hatch a day or so late, probably, and if it was a degree too hot, they may hatch a day early. So don't give up--if they fail to hatch, it will be the loss of humidity from opening the bator, probably.
When I first started hatching, I didn't know this, and opened the bator to take out the first couple that hatched, and the rest didn't. When I knew it was too late for them to hatch, I broke them open to see what had happened, and every egg had a perfectly formed, ready to hatch dead chick. They just couldn't make it out of the shell from the lack of humidity. Good Luck, and hope this info helps, either this time, or next time.

I had to open it to put more water in. I held the led light sideways and stuck the big end with the air cell to it to see if I could see it pipped internally. and it was I did not tur the egg what so ever put it back in the bator just the way it came out. I have them numbered and the number side was up when I took it out and it is still that way.
my humidity is 70% right now I think that is good the temp is 100 . the incubator that I am using is an old galvanized brower 845 (still air) I know that it is not the greatest in the world. so i bought a lyons TX 6 off of ebay for 45.00 I am going to try to hatch some more in it. I don't have to open it to add the water it has a bottle on the side and has the fan for better heat circulation. I am just worried sick over my babies in the other bator
