I have an early in the morning layer who will not use the nesting box!

This hen like to lay her egg on the floor. I have tried different nesting boxes and even put one on the floor because I had read here that some of them like that. I have the fake eggs in the nest. I have even repositioned my roosts. It is so frustrating. She is my Wellsumner and lays the biggest most gorgeous eggs. This morning when I went out it looked like one of the hens pecked at it and ate it. Please help!!

Could you share some pictures of the coop interior, and your boxes. It might help spot how you could change things.

Did she just recently start laying? It's a pretty common thing for new layers to do. Sometimes it takes a while for them to figure out how to control those muscles.
