Many find they have to buy it online. Custom milling is one source. Not cheap, esp. with shipping, but it should be used sparingly.

The cheapest on the net is EARTHWORKSHEALTH.COM; this is where I got my 50 lb bag for 27.50 plus about 25for s and h. I use it liberally in and around my coop.
no flies, no stink, and one happy DW.

50lb bag $25.00 + $30.00 s+h food grade DE.

Sometimes you can get your local agricultural store to order it for you and save the S&H costs. I just asked my local store very sweetly if they could order it for me and they did. They keep it stocked regularly since so many are using it now. It's like it was the world's best kept secret for years, but now the word is out and everyone's using it.

Just a thought....... I have raised chickens, quite successfully, for over 20 years without DE.

My chickens do not have mites, lice, etc,....
I do not have a fly problem. There is not an odor problem in my chicken house.

Of course I have 21 chickens in a 12' x 12' coop with a 2000 square foot run.

I never saw it kill one fly. now if you have a bunch of poop laying around for long periods of time I suppose you would be breeding flies but I clean up every day and have no problems. My coop does not smell and we have no mites or lice etc. I do occasionally till in some lime in the run to "sweeten" it. Don't panic and I wouldn't suggest paying outrageous prices for it.
