i have chicken fever!

Started with 21 last year, 75 this year! Last years are egg layers, this years are meat birds.

I agree with your diagnosis - maybe an ice pack will lessen the fever

Last year it started at tractor supply with six red pullets, followed by a craigslist purchase of 15 buff orpingtons and black australorps.

Now I have in addition to my egg layers, 50 Cornish crosses, and 25 rhode island reds (courtesy of Mt healthy) and my first batch of 17 eggs in a hovabator!

I have chicken fever so badly! made the mistake of going to TSC today to look at supplies for when I get my first flock of chooks at the beginning of May...the chicks, oh my!.... it took all I had to leave the store without buying a few, I have my pullets ordered from a wonderful lady I found through BYC but those little fuzzy faces at TSC were so tempting.....

Kelsie X2 and that this is a dangerous time of year! I have to stay out of all feed stores this time of year or this is what it would look like at my place as well!!
