I have my first broody

She has been sitting in the nest box for 3 or so days now and this morning she was hissing at me when I went to collect eggs. I decided to give her some eggs and see what happens. The only thing is my chicken eggs are not fertile so she is sitting on 11 duck eggs. Hopefully she will take good care of them, if not I will get the brooder setup for them.


Thanks for the eggs...now get the heck out of here!

I'm jealous, all my hens are RIR and leghorn crosses....NONE of which will go broody. I'm so wanting to experience a hen with chicks!
