I get 6-7 eggs a week from my Barreds (I think that is above average, though) and they get along great with my bantams. I think if the bantams heavily outnumber a large bird, it wouldn't matter too much what breed you get.
I have nearly all bantams...but I want 1 standard hen for eggs...
