I have one chicken that just sits in the bottom of the coop and won't come out. Any idea why? She's a New Hampshire Red 6mos old. She's just sitting in a corner not a nesting box. She use to be one of the loudest ones and now she hardly makes a peep.

Could she be broody? Is she bullied by the other chickens?

No she's not bullied.

If she is not being bullied by love-sick roosters or mean older sisters, and she is not broody, then it may be a health problem. She could have injured, such as on her leg or may have a viral or bacterial infection.

I ordered Big Ole Bird Poultry Supplement. It's supposed to help with all of this. Opinions please.

That will certainly help them, but it won't prevent bacterial or viral infections, it simply helps make the birds stronger so they can fight them off better when they do get them. If your bird exhibits signs of being sick, to the point where she is inactive, she is likely very sick and should be separated from the others.

Could she be egg bound? Does she appear to be straining?

I checked her to make sure she's not egg bound. She looked fine back there and she didn't seem to be straining. But she isn't moving around a lot.

I would separate her and give her some scrambled eggs and keep her warm and rested. If she shows no improvement or gets worse, I would try some medication of some kind. I'm not expert when it comes to poultry diseases, but I hope this helps.
