Oh now, don't fret. I did a college presentation on commercial farming. There are a TON of useful sites out there. Just watch out for PETA based sites, they like to *ahem* "exaggerate" the truth. ALSO, learn from my experience, be careful on presenting pictures to the class. My speech was in front of a college class with adults of all ages, and even though I tried to pick and print some of the more "mild" images in regards to the factory farms, I still left a handful of people in tears. Yes, it means my speech was effective in "reaching" people, but having an adult crying in front of you while you are trying to professionally give a speech is very distracting and you can't help but feel a little bad that you put them in a bummer mood.

it is a 8-10 minute speech, no pics, or props, and thanks, but i mean like what should i focus on and an attention getter......

I shouldn't have laughed at that, but I did.

As far as what to focus on, focus on how little room they are given, and the potential for abuse in factory farms (KFC had an incident with this a while back). Seriously though, just Google it, and you will find plenty of information and shocking facts.

We chuckled about it later, but I felt aweful. Yes factory farms are aweful, and can be very emotional, but still you hate to leave someone in tears. I also felt bad because the person standing to give a speech after me was obviously emotionally distracted and distraught because of my presentation. Oooppss, some people just have trouble with the truth. I just hate thinking I knocked another student off their game or left someone in the audience CRYING.

I believe I got a good grade on it though. Heh.

the channel TLC - google it and look for the video of the show How It's Made - they did a great show on battery hens and the battery they featured treated the chickens very well!!!!

Also take a look at two UK sites.....

Battery Hen Welfare Trust .......

Chicken Out....

You will tons and tons of information on battery hens......

Good luck and keep us all posted on your speech....
