Agghhhhhh. I have a new pet peeve. It is posts that begin "I haven't read the rest of this thread but...." and then either say something completely off the mark or that has been re-hashed six times already, usually by at least one other person starting with "I haven't read....". If you're going to give advice/opinion, doesn't it make sense to find out all the facts first?

You are not the only one

I encountered that several times yesterday.
Makes me feel like coming unglued, LOL!
At the very least, one should scan and read all the posts by the OP.

I'm guilty, but when there are 16 pages and you do not have the time to read it all, you apologise first. so far it has been new info when I've done it

Yeah what she said ....

Also..what do i care what everyone else said to the OP....?
It makes no sense to me...
I usually read the OPs FIRST post..the post that started the thread... the REASON the OP started the thread... its USUALLY all in the first post...
honestly..sometimes i just dont feel like reading through 12 pages of stupid comments...

Well, I haven't read through all the posts on this thread so I don't know what other people said, (

lol JK!) but if the thread is really really REALLY long, then it is time-consuming to browse through every single post on the thread.

I've tried it and by the time I finally get half way through, I just skip ahead and write a response, but I add that "I haven't read through the entire thread, so sorry if someone already said this......" so they know that I'm not purposely saying something someone else said. BUT, if it's a short thread and someone posts that they haven't gone through it all, then that's what sometimes bugs me.

Here is a good example.... ROPO's stolen horse issue. It would be like reading a book. If you have time, go for it. If not, scan and read as much of the OP's responses and go from there. I my self can't sit at the puter that long at a time. I'm in and out even if logged in.
