So, I am new to this site and have introduced myself a couple days ago. I was super excited about the chicks and they are coming along great. We bought a house that had a chicken coop and decided today would be a great day to clean it out as it still had straw in it. I went in with chicken friendly cleaner and a bucket, mask and gloves. I was pumped to start this. Well, let me tell you! It didn’t go as planned. The previous owners had not only chickens in there, but also dogs and cats and probably a bunch of other different animals.
I picked up the straw and started going about and definitely noticed an odor. So I got everything sprayed and went to get the hose to spray it out. Let me tell you, I am now covered from head to toe is poop! My husband is finding this hilarious, because my trusty boots let me down and I mean down! I ended up on the floor with all this poop and while staring at the ceiling contemplating if I truly still wanted these darn chickens because I, myself, have a child who is like a wild animal! I got back up and walked towards the house were my very loving husband looked at me then told me I wasn’t allowed in the house because I smelled of poop and then picked a piece out of my long hair and howled! I need some funny moments guys, because these chickens I don’t think will appreciate the hard work.
