Ya' know how when chicken feathers are growing, and usually in the middle of growing feathers there is this weird residue in the shape of a tube that sticks around the growing feather (much like bark on a tree)? Well I found out that if you calm down a chicken enough to sit it down in your lap, then use your fingers to gently, calmly, and gingerly pull the residue off some feathers, the chickens really enjoy the "grooming". Much like apes do

My silky roo also loves to cuddle with me. What a mommys boy :3. Just thought I'd throw that in there.. but don't tell him I told you :O! It would embarass him something awful!...

I know that chickens love being preened, but I didn't know that they enjoy humans preenin' their feathers for them :>. That's just flat out neat
