Not a great picture but here they are. Prettiest Frog had ordered Roen eggs and her order got mixed up with another order and she was sent Pekin eggs which was evident when they hatched I guess. She only wanted Roens and I saw her post on the Auction thread and we traded feed for birds (her vehicle is in the shop so I picked up feed for her). They are so cute I can't wait. I already have their pond planned and I will make a place for them to sleep under the roost when I get the dropping boards in. For now I will just put them in a dog kennel at night so they aren't under any hens getting dumped on. Thanks Prettiest Frog and whoever sent you the wrong eggs I couldn't be happier and it made a rather bad week end great.

SO cute... I had to look twice...they are so similar to the two I have here beside me in a brooder box.. But mine also have a little muscovy for company as well.. So cute.. I love when their feathers just start to grow.

I am hooked on these two. I hope I have at least one hen. They are in the livingroom watching TV with my son and I, I'm watching them I have no idea what is on the TV. The black lab is a little bewildered but is ignoring them. They hatched on 01/30/09.

Ducklings in the lounge room near the TV are such a good way to stop watching the TV.... I think my Ducklings in their box beside the TV are just so much more entertaining than whats on the screen.
I hope you end up with a pair. Waiting for your own ducks eggs to hatch is wonderful.

Looks like they were indeed whisked off to a magical land where duckies are treated like royalty! Ducks are great entertainment.

Ooooh, how precious! How do you tell them apart? I couldn't really tell my two baby Pekins apart by looks alone but one slightly more protectice of the other. Ping and Pong were two peas in a pod, but one died abruptly and quite mysteriously one night in her secure duck house at 3 months old (RIP). I think it was Ping as her eyes were ever so slightly narrower. I rescued two more the following month and they've lived happily ever after. They are 3 totally different sizes with very different personalities.

Enjoy your duckies! They are soooooo much fun. Mine come when I call them, especially if I yell out "Worms! Who wants worms?!"

First bath. Prettiest Frog was nice enough to tie colored string around their leg so right now it is easyto tell them apart. You can see it in the picture just barely, red & blue. One is slighly smaller than the other and she said one hatched 10 hours later than the other. We are really enjoying them. I have peas thawed out on the counter and another container in the fridge. We have been holding them on towels and they actually fell asleep in my lap. I cut a hole in one of my good rubbermaid containers, after I read the butter container waterer post and it works great. They get their whole head in there because it is deep but it really is keeping the head shaking water spay down.

Oh and I helped to dry them with the blow dryer on their backs they loved it. I grew up with mallards and I am still in awe how big they are but we are so excited. No names yet.
