all the new clothes DH bought me for our vacation.

I'm getting excited now. Going to see my dad for the first time since 2007.

First time we've traveled further than Hot Springs since 2007.

But I'm also sad. I'm going to miss our furry sons - Jax and Kane - sooooo much. Gonna miss my chicklettes feathering out and growing up too.

DH took the whole rest of the month of April off, so no telling whereall we'll wander.

That sounds wonderfu! I can't imagine going away for more than a day or two. Although, we are supposed to be traveling out West this summer to see the Grand Canyon! Have fun on your trip!

Are you taking a break from BYC on vacation as well, or will you be able to update us on your travels?

We're going to the beach in July and I'm already considering just sending DH and the kids without me because I have no idea who is going to be taking care of the chickens during that time. We don't have any neighbors that I really trust and any family lives at least an hour away. I am afraid my chickies will die from the heat.

I'm not real excited about having DSD and her husband stay here to take care of the critters, but it's the best we can do. All our neighbors/friends have commercial chicken houses, so they can't be around my birds.

I'm writing out the rules/restrictions as we go:

NO hunting on the farm whatsoever. DH can't lock his gun cabinet, but we did put locks on the case of his new rifle last night. SIL is welcome to fish in the pond all he wants, so long as he catch and releases.

My dogs will be taken out every two hours OR ELSE!

NO letting her sister take the food that I've bought for our animals home to feed hers (the ones she can't feed, but refuses to give up). I've caught her sneaking dog food out of the house before.

We're taking our Rx medications with us, especially my pain meds. So no need for her sister to come looking for any to steal.

The new $1000 big screen TV? They break it, they've bought it.

Yes, I'm a witch.

P.S. Last night I bought Dad one of the weather alert radios I told him about (just like the one we have). Telling him I'm bringing him one really seemed to calm him down about the weather.
