I just wanted to post about my lovely birds. I have a fairly large flock of Coturnix Quail and some buttons but these two in the pictures are Nutmeg and Marmite, and they are my semi trained house quail. I hatched them out myself, so they are really tame. I have a large flock of birds that I use for eggs, but these two are living with me in my house with my two button quails and they get on amazingly well and they love each other so much. The coturnix sit on top of the buttons at night when it's time to go to bed to keep them warm or just to snuggle.
When I told my family I was keeping quail in my house they thought I had lost my mind, but these guys have turned into the most wonderful pets ever. They go to do their droppings in their tray, and they never peck my children scratch or bite and are generally just wonderful, they also do not smell and make hardly any noise considering they are roosters.
These little birds have really surprised me with their playful antics and just generally kind and inquisitive ways, not to mention they make the sweetest noises and generally just make me smile
