What is the difference between a regular chicken and a banty?

What's a silkie?

I forget the other ones, but I'm so confused.

Don't even know if this is the right place to post these questions.

A "regular" chicken is called a standard or large fowl (LF). The regular chicken is much larger than the "banty" or bantam. A Silkie is just a particular breed of chicken - it doesn't have the normal feathers like most chickens. They are one of the best broodies and are very sweet.

a regular chicken is "regular sized" usually around 6-8 pounds, give or take... a "banty" otherwise known as a "bantam" is a smaller sized chicken. these bantams are breeds. certain breeds like Australorps, have a smaller counterpart breed known as a bantam. if i had a normal sized australorp, i would just say that i had an australorp. if i said that i had a bantam australorp, then you would know i had a "mini" breed of the big kind. bantams are like 1-4 pounds. there are some breeds like Sebrights, that are considered bantams and have no larger counterpart. there is no "standard" sized sebright. they are all "bantams"

Silkies are a breed of chicken. their feathers are like silky fur... google search "silkie chickens"

Silkies are evil and will suck your soul out so I am told. The cuteness is evil at its finest.

they are also excellent incubators because they go broody a lot and will hatch almost anything you put under them.

Banty or bantams weigh around 32 ounces full grown but standard chickens can get 6 - 14 llbs in some cases
