I kissed a turkey

Any idea of what kind of predator you have? Any feathers in the area? I think that's what struck me as odd when I saw the pic. The area around the remains looks too clean like it was just dropped there.

That's too bad. I hope the hit man does a quick and complete job. I know my big turkey I mean husband would love to be my hit man. He's always excited to see a predator coming around with hopes that he will get a shot off. I'm sure he could get whatever, but a few years back he was trying to get a gopher that was driving me nuts. Yeah think Chevy Chase. He swears he got it but we never found the corpse, and of course I was at work at the time so well it's just more fun to taunt him about it. Now my dad it pretty much blind but if you tell him where something is on his property he can get it everytime. He shot a bunny that my son saw out on the lawn on Easter morning. All my son had to say was "look there's a bunny over by that stump. I wonder if it's the.. oh.. Grandpa!" Now that's a hit man.

i have a turkey too. he's a real sweat heart. i've had turkeys before but they were real buttheads. i tried it with just one and the one on one raising seems to help. i want to get him a friend so he has someone to hang out with other than my chickens and ducks.

So it was possibly killed somewhere else and the wing was carried there... I don't think a raccoon or possum would do that. I doubt a hawk would kill an adult turkey, they usually go after smaller game like bunnies and mice. An owl can and will take out a turkey, but I doubt they would carry a wing and drop it. Possibly a canine or feline taking part of it to eat then dropped it to check out the other birds that you have there? Even then, there really is no telling if it was left by the critter that killed it... Something else could have picked up a piece to carry away (a stray cat could have even done that).

That really is strange to find just a part like that. Do you have any roads near by? It could have even been hit by a car.
