Right! That's why I stay so confused! I so want HER to be the right call, but I just don't know yet. She looks so different from my all-black Ameraucana pullet, with the almost non-existent comb, and compared to her male counter part she's definitely different, but not enough so that I can be convinced yet. Arrrggghh!!!!how old? comb says cockerel to me but everything else says pullet
At least 14 wks, but possibly a little older. We need an age but it looks like a boy to me.
Tail feathers are pretty short right now, so it's hard to tell what they are really going to do. SHE sticks by her male counterpart pretty closely and I've never noticed any stare-downs, raised hackels, etc., showing typical cockerel behavior toward anyone else, and no crowing yet. Can someone tell me if Ameraucanas are typically pretty docile and sweet, whether pullet or cockerel? My uncle has had hens with abnormally large combs before but ... I dunno, you might have a cockerel.
You have any other pictures of her? Or does she have curling tail feathers? Hard to tell in the picture.
