But aren't Blue Mottled or Black Spangled Asils/Aseels splotchy like that for both sexes?

Yes, mottled birds are spotted. However, these splotches are bold and contain red. I also have to agree with the others that mention the body stance of these chicks being masculine.

That is one of the males looks more like a stag now ? Unfortunately his brother was found dead thought if share with the guys that helped (thanks)
