Ok so I know this is a chicken site but I know a lot of people raise rabbits and chickens so I have a question I have a female Siamese sable Holland lop and i have a freind with a blue eyed white holland lop male do you guys think its a good idea they are both are in between 1 and 2 years old and papered i have homes for the kits once weaned ( another friend, the male rabbits owner and myself) do you guys thing she would have more than 4 or so from one breeding?

Since Holland Lops are a small breed, it is possible that your doe would only have four. However, the litter size varies with each doe, buck, and breeding. I raise Mini Rex, which are about the same size as Holland Lops, and I've had does have anywhere from three to nine viable kits per litter, with an average of about six. Keep in mind that some kits may be "peanuts," babies with two copies of the dwarfing gene, which die soon after birth.

My Hollands have generally had anywhere from 2 to 6, with 4 or 5 being normal. As @BantamLover21 said, "peanuts" are a sad issue that all breeders of dwarf breeds have to deal with.

Breeding any color to a BEW is a crap shoot. You don't know what colors the buck may be carrying (though his pedigree may give you some ideas). You are pretty much guaranteed to get Vienna Marked babies from this cross; VM may or may not have blue eyes, and usually have white on their legs and faces which sometimes even looks a lot like the markings of a Dutch rabbit.
