I know this is not a chicken egg it is a mallard egg but i need help figuring out if it is alive

You can see all the layers but no embryol but in the middle there is a layer that goes all the way around and is a dark looking red color and its like a zig-zag

Is there anyway you can post a picture? It's hard to tell from just a description.

Take a flash light and hold it up against the egg, do this in a dark room/closet.
Get a few pictures of the egg and post them here so we can see it.

Do you see something similar to this in your egg, I am not seeing it.

No not really but theirs is moving on day 8 and mine is on day 10 and still nothing much has happened

It may have quit the , I am sorry.

Won't hurt to leave it a few days to make sure.
