I started reading it for advice back in March 2020. I purchased 9 baby chicks from TS just before the world got shut down. When I bought the first chickens I didn't have a coop, big mistake.
Anyway,, my thanks to any one who is a veteran poultry parent. I have found that there are a lot of different thoughts on how things should be done reguarding chicks. It is nice to have access to a forum where many different ideas are available.....and mostly from experience rather than just opinions.
My little chicken coop sort of kept getting bigger and bigger. I first built a 6 ft. by 8 ft. coop then I added a 8 ft. by 12 ft. run and last but not least I added a 4 ft. by 8 ft. Care Unit (baby coop/ coop for Broody hens/ quarentine for new or injuried chickens.

Thank you.
I have been reading for months and just decided to join. I am usually an observer more than a joiner, but this is such a good idea, I decided rather than googling every question I would join a group that has helped me so much since I started raising chickens.

I am now the proud mom of 1 giant Leghorn Rooster and 6 Golden Comet hens, 3 Leghorn hens, 2 Jersey Giant hens and 1 Whiting True Blue pullet. I get up every day looking forward to seeing my babies. I have wanted chickens for years because my grandparents always had them and I loved them as a child.

I have to put up with lot of jokes from family members about my "Chicken Ckub Med" , as my son-in-law calls it. I had read so much about chicken math that I wanted to make a coop big enough to get a few more chickens, so hence the large complex. I was bored during the pandemic so I just kept building.
No regrets here.
