We just went on a week vacation to Reading, Michigan last week. I had a great time although the fishing wasnt as good as promised.

We really needed a vacation since its been over 4 years since we last took one. My mom was searching Craigslist a few months ago and came across a cottage on Ribeck Lake. We checked it out and we booked our week! lol

The owner told us that it was really great fishing but we didnt have any luck, no matter what we tried. We ended up catching about 35 little bluegill once the week was over.

Well, I just wanted to say I missed everyone and say,

"I'm Back"!!!

Lol
Thanks,
Cody!!

yeah... it's really good fishing.... throw your lines all you want and have fun feeding the lil bluegills. That's what he meant to say.

welcome back.

Same here! I'm in Michigan and I visited Wisconsin over the weekend. One of the two dog shows got canceled because of rain, and the other show went well but I didn't win anything. It's good to be back!!!

sorry the fishing was so poor, that lake is one that is activly trying to improve the water quality. If you are interested in fishing........ well gimme a holler some weekend, I've access to a couple of lakes via private property where I know where the good holes are

PS, what sort of fish are you targeting?

Well, I was going for anything. I tried going for bluegill, perch, bass, and catfish.

We ended up catching around 35 bluegill, 4 small perch, and two baby bass. I saw one bass that was about 10 to 12 inches long swimming in the water. Usually I can catch some really big bass. The lady apoligized about the fishing and she told us again that the previos renter had caught about 70 bass. She told us this when we frist got there but we figured that he released them all. lol

Boyd, how far away are some of the good holes from say the Ohio/ Michigan line? We might have to come up for the weekend and see what we can catch.

Last summer, I caught around ten big bass from a local pond. We put them in our pond with about ten other catfish we caught. Through the winter, the ice pack got really thick on our pond and the all died. I had to scoop out about twenty-some dead fish out of our pond. And, most of them were really big. Like 2 feet long cats that we caught.

I need to re-stock our pond again before winter so that the bass can eat all of the little bluegill. Then in the middle of winter, we will try to break up the ice to let oxygen into the water.

Thank,
Cody!!
