I am so anxious to start raising but can't find anyone with any Hollands or Dorkings. Anyone else know of a docile, cold hardy, white egg layer that is available now or Soon. I can't wait until spring!

I think there are hatcheries here and there who still have some stock left. But honestly, I would settle with something like Polish if I were you.

They don't lay as rarely as people say, their eggs aren't always as small as people say, and their personalities are wonderful! They're not skittish like some say, either. Also, they're cold hardy, docile white egg layers.

And who can't resist a bird that looks like this?

Or this. . . (crest has been trimmed because it rains a LOT out here. Otherwise, they can see just fine)

Your hollands are single combed, so I'm not sure about the cold hardy part. They are hard to come by. There are some dorking eggs on the auction listing now, know anybody with an incubator?
